Declare India as a Hindu Nation

Declare India as a Hindu Nation
Demands All India Hindu Convention

It is said that rare event, competent enough to change the course of history, takes place rarely in a life, and the recently concluded All India Hindu Convention for Establishment of the Hindu Rashtra at Ramnathi, Ponda, Goa, merits the same status, if not more. The Hindutva movement in the Indian scenario will never remain the same henceforth and  the earlier approaches - termed as moribund by both its admirers and adversaries - will get lively, thanks to the convention. It would Hinduise politics more successfully than ever before.

I had the good opportunity of attending this “All India Hindu Convention for the establishment of a Hindu Nation” held from 10th to 14th June 2012 at Ponda, Goa. The Convention was organised by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, a NGO promoted by Sanathan Sanstha. About 200 delegates - from Kashmir to Kanyakumari - representing various Hindu organisations working for Hindu cause were present and actively participated.

Apart from representatives from HJS and SS, others who participated in the Convention were: Shri Tapan Ghosh, President, Hindu Samhati, West Bengal; Shri Pramod Muthalik, President, Sriram Sene, Karnataka, Shri Arjun Sampath, President, Hindu Makkal Katchi, Coimbatore; Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir; Shri Upanand Brahmachari, Editor, Hindu Existence, Kolkata; Adv. Sanjeev Punalekar from Mumbai; Shri Suryakant Kelkar, President, Bharat Raksha Manch, Bhopal; Shri Thakur Raja Singh, President, Shriram Yuva Sena, Bhagyanagar; Sant Sri Narayan Prem Sai (son of Asaram Bapu); Pujya Shri Siddhalinga Mahaswami, Karuneshwar Mutt, Karnataka; Shri Uttam Dandime, Director, Hindu Swabhiman Pratishthan, Pune; Acharya Yogesh Shashtri, Arya Pratishthan, Bengal; Shri Naval Kishor Sharma, Devi Saraswati Bhojshala Muktiyoga Samiti, Bhopal; Shri B.R. Haran, Senior Journalist, Chennai; Shri. S.S. Yadav, 'Maaro Pariwar', Jamnagar, Gujarat; Col. D.K. Kapur from Delhi,  Shri Manish Munjal from Ghaziabad, UP, Shri Sharad Mistry and Shri Makarand Mahadik of Hindu Manavadhikar Manch, Mumbai, Shri P.P.P. Nayar of Keraliya Kshetrapalan Committee, Mumbai - to name a few.

The Dignitaries stole the attention of all by sharing their own experiences and the hardest struggles waged in different parts of India to preserve and uphold Hindu interests. Each and every leader was found to focus on an assortment of issues; however, there was a consensus among them as regards one matter – to turn India in to a Hindu Rashtra. A Resolution to declare India as a Hindu Rashtra was unanimously adopted, with thunderous chorus of ‘Jayatu Jayatu, Hindu Rashtram’ from the delegates.

Also, Resolutions condemning distortion of history of India, usurping of Hindu temples to loot their funds, inactivity of government to put an end to recurrent Hindu persecution in both Kashmir and Bangladesh and Pakistan, etc. were adopted with wholehearted support. The same enthusiasm was perceived when proposals to resist mounting cow slaughtering and Love Jihad were adopted unanimously.

Dr. Jayant Athavale,  Founder of Sanatan Sanstha, in a message, said: “The ultimate goal of all the Hindu organisations is establishment of the Hindu Nation. ...  yet, there was no unity among them. Consequently no one was able to see or experience the manifestation of the strength of Hindu unity. Post ‘All India Hindu Convention’, unity of the Hindu organisations will be felt. Feeling of loneliness of Hindu organisations will be wiped out and with a confidence that ‘we all are Pandavs’, they will be active for the protection of Dharma and ultimately the goal of establishing the Hindu Nation will be achieved.”

According to Dr. Charudatta Pingale, National Guide of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti: “Establishment of Hindu Rashtra will be done through constitutional means only. Hindus will be educated about their rights, and public opinion will be created. Due to the pressure of public opinion, the rulers will have to take decisions in the interest of Hindus.”

Dr. Pingale further said that our ideals are Prabhu Sriram, Prabhu Srikrishna, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj etc. Our only weapons are God's grace and blessings of Saints. On their strength we will make efforts to increase the Kshatratej and Brahmatej in us and in Hindus. As a result, we will not need any other weapon for the establishment of Hindu Rashtra, he said.

However, there was a lurking doubt in the minds of a few delegates as to how, in a functioning democracy, without going through the electoral process, Hindu Rashtra can be established and how in a Hindu Rashtra the Heads of the States like the Prime Minister and the President will be elected/selected.

Nonetheless, for the first time in the independent history of Bharat, when there is despair and despondency every where, an organisation has the gumption to call an All India Convention for the establishment of Hindu Nation, and has succeeded in bringing most of the Hindu Activists working in different parts of the country, together. Looking at the enthusiasm of the participants, one feels that every one was waiting for such an opportunity. The Conference has given each Hindu Activist the much needed confidence and strength - that he is not alone and the whole nation is behind him. If the mood of the delegates is any indication, Hindu Rashtram is not far away. At least the feelings have been rekindled and the ball has been set rolling, thanks to HJS and SS. The Convention has decided to take this message further by organising similar conferences at the state and district levels shortly.

It is said that comfort-loving cadre and status-conscious leaders are the bane of any organisation. In Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and Sanatan Sanstha, both these aspects are absent. One therefore feels that with their Spiritual Power, combined with their humility, dedication and devotion to the cause, and with the support of all nationalist Hindus,  Hindu Rashtram will be a reality.
